Do And Teach

Matthew 5:19, Deuteronomy 5:237, 11:1, 28:l, John 14:23, James 1:22

Often people receive certificates, plaques, and even trophies to honor them for something they have done. Most of the time what they have done requires sacrifice and great effort. Honoring people is an encouraging plan but to have the Lord’s honor is much to be sought after. In the Bible, we are reminded that God determines it is honoring and important to:

• Read the Word. Psalms 119:165

• Live the Word. James 1:22

• Teach the Word. Matthew 5:19

• Encourage others to follow the Word. I Timothy 3:16-17

• Trust in the Word. Isaiah 26:3

And live to honor Him and be a demonstration of all that He can and will do in one’s heart and life. As the disciples sat and listened when Jesus taught these life-changing Biblical truths (Matthew 5-6-7), they must have been greatly challenged when He said that the person who “does” them and “teaches” others is a person who has God’s favor in their life.

Prayer: Lord, help me to understand more clearly Your Word and give me the courage to teach others.
