Exercise
Galatians 5:23, Proverbs 25:28, I Corinthians 9:24:27, I Corinthians 7:5, II Timothy 3:1-5
Much is being said today about exercise but the talking usually refers to exercising physically. Of course, some physical exercise is good but it is also very important that a person exercises self-control. Self-control is responding and living biblically in all situations and encounters. We need to exercise self-control in our:
Speech - words that are helpful and God-honoring
Reactions - forgiving and seeking forgiveness as God leads
Thoughts - not keeping thoughts of revenge and resentment on our mind
Conduct in general
We are often reminded that anything out of control is dangerous and this includes a person. Many relational encounters conclude with tragic words and actions because people are out of control.
Prayer: Lord, show me any areas of my life where my self-control needs to be adjusted.
