Use Great Caution
Proverbs 10:21, 13:2, 15:26, 17:22, 18:20, 25:11
The days come and go so quickly that one hardly notices the many opportunities each day to encourage and bless others with the right words. It is estimated that a person speaks a few thousand words per day. Therefore one needs to be careful just what they say because:
They may never see the person again
Each encounter is God-planned
Many people need encouraging
All people need the Lord
People need a word from the Lord
Words are short, quick, and often said without any real thought. It is the great joy of the believer to be God’s ambassador to others so it behooves one to be cautious and thoughtful as to what they say. It might be good now to stop and make a list of people that God brings to your attention who need a special word today. As Proverbs 25:11 reminds us, “a word filly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver.”
Prayer: Lord, guide me today to speak words of blessings, help, encouragement, and joy to those You lead me to encounter.
