Inner Beauty
Ephesians 1:17-19, 3:14-19, II Corinthians 4:16, I Samuel 16:7, Colossians 3:10, Romans 12: 1-2, Proverbs 4:23
One gives much of their time to fixing the outer person so it is acceptable to others and attractive. Surely, one wants to look nice, but so much of one’s time is invested in the outer person and the inner person is often neglected. The Apostle Paul prayed regularly that the “inner person” would be “filled with God.” In the Old Testament, when the prophet was looking for a king, he was reminded that God looks at the heart. It is vitally important that each believer invests time daily to feed and change the inner person so they honor the Lord and live in obedience to the Bible. Jesus reminded His listeners that it is “out of the heart” that one speaks and lives. Therefore, one should check the heart (inner person) often, clean it from sin, feed the inner person God’s Word, and “guard it with all diligence.”
Prayer: Lord, help me to see what is really in my heart and guide me to having a clean inner person. May my life honor You and may obedience to Your word be evident in my daily walk.
