Your Corner

Proverbs 25:11, Matthew 5:13-16, II Corinthians 4:6, Luke 8:16, Ephesians 5:9, John 8:12, I Thesselonians 5:5

It is easy to get so wrapped up in one’s challenges and troubles that other people are forgotten and ignored. Ina Dudley Ogdon must have had this in mind when she penned the words to Brighten the Corner Where You Are. Many of her songs were a reminder that it is the joy of believers to add sunshine and joy to the “corner of the world.” The first verse of her song goes, “do not wait until some deed of greatness you may do, brighten the corner where you are.” It is a great challenge for each one to carefully consider the:

  • Work of God in their life now

  • Many blessings they enjoy

  • Many gifts that God has given

  • The gladness of the day comes from being thankful to God and others

So, we have the great challenge and joy this day to “brighten the corner where we are.”

Prayer: God, I lay at Your feet today to be used to brighten my corner of life as You lead and fill me to do so today.
