Do It Now
Ecclesiastes 9:10, 11:6, Colossians 3:17, 23, I Samuel 12:24, I Corinthians 15:58
One of the great temptations in life is procrastination or putting the assignment off until later. Usually, the more challenging the task seems a person is more like to put it off until a later time. We must remember that a wise person said a long time ago, “putting off climbing a hill does not make the hill smaller.” A trap of the enemy is to get one to put so many things off until later and the pile gets so big that it is very challenging to do anything. Better yet, one should:
Pray for wisdom
Seek the Lord’s step-by-step guidance
Make a list as the Lord leads
Get at it
We should never forget that this day will soon be history so being diligent is our duty for now. It is true that the Lord does not expect us to do everything but He does want us to be faithful to the assignments He has given. The sincere believer happily does what the Lord places before them each day.
Prayer: Lord, give me direction and wisdom to do now what You desire me to do.
