Cultivating A Merry Heart
Proverbs 14:30, 15:13, 17:22, 18:14, Matthew 5:13-16, II Corinthians 5:17, Philippians 4:7
The conduct and attitude of a person can make a great impact and influence on others. People are often known for their joyful spirit, kind words, and pleasant attitude while others are known to be irritable, negative, complaining, and discontent most of the time. It does not take too much thought to determine which person is an attraction to others and a pleasure to be around. It is the great joy of believers to be happy and rejoicing in the Lord. This does not mean that happy believers do not have any problems but they have determined to praise and thank the Lord for His ways in their life. It is this person that attracts the attention of others and draws people to the Lord. So, it is vitally important that a person is cultivating a merry heart each day, even in times of problems and difficulties. This happens as the believer meditates in and on the Word of God and is thankful to God and others for the blessings of life. Just as the garden must be cultivated and planted so the life of one that has a merry heart must be cultivated with the Bible and planted with seeds of rejoicing and thanksgiving unto the Lord.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the many blessings in and on my life. You have done so much for me and I praise Your name and am determined to be Your representative to a needy world.
