Merciful
Proverbs 11:7, Matthew 5:7, Luke 6:36, Colossians 3:12, Matthew 5:13-16
It is a demonstration of the work and moving of God in one’s life to reach out and help others. Just as Jesus invested time to help, heal, and minister to those in need… as followers of Christ, we should also be “merciful” people. A merciful person:
Does not judge but helps
Is kind and considerate
Is open to the Lord’s leading
Is ready to share in the time of need in another’s life
Happily gives
Is God’s vessel to show His love toward one in need
The definition of mercy is “the bringing of relief to one in need” and it is a great joy for the follower of the Lord to be His representative to bless those in need. It is the great joy of believers to graciously reach out to help others and not be so wrapped up and consumed with their own needs that they overlook others.
Prayer: God, use and guide me today to be merciful and kind to others.
