Off To A Good Start
Psalms 5:3, 59:16, 63:1, 90:14, 119:147, 143:8
The alarm goes off and it is time to get up. Often a person reaches over and turns the alarm off and sleeps a little longer. However, the wise and obedient follower of the Lord allows and plans time to get started correctly as they meet with God in:
Bible reading… many times using a devotional guide
Reading one chapter of Proverbs per day
Reading five chapters of Psalms
Prayer
Meditation
Application and journaling of what God is bringing to their attention
Yes, there are many things that need to be done each day but the wise believer invests time at the beginning of the day with the Lord and in His Word. It is true that one can have a time in the Word anytime but it seems logical and wise to “meet with God before meeting with others. Getting off to a good start is the key to a profitable day.
Prayer: Thank You Lord for today and guide me in all that You desire me to do this day.
