Check It Out
Proverbs 14:8, 21:21, 10:17, Psalms 139:23-24, Acts 20:24, Matthew 6:34, Ephesians 5:15-16
It is easy to get caught up in the long list of things that need to be done so that the heart (inner person) is not checked and one can get off the spiritual path of life. For as we are reminded in the Bible, one follows after the priorities of the heart. So, it is a good idea to check the heart (inner person) often to make sure the ways of the world are not taking first place in life (Romans 12: 1-2). It is time in the Bible and before the Lord in prayer which is essential to living in obedience to the Lord. When this takes place, one’s perspective on life and people is bent towards the ways of the Lord rather than the ways of the world. It would probably be wise to check what is on your mind and lingering in your heart at this time (Psalm 139:23-24). it is vital to living in obedience to the Bible that the heart (inner person) is focused on God and His Word.
Prayer: Lord, show me what is in my heart and what I need to change or add.
