Be Thankful Today
Psalms 107:8, 15, 21, 31, Psalms 121:1-8, I Thesselonians 5:18, James 1:17
God gives many blessings and provisions as we travel the journey of life. Yet, many times the blessings are enjoyed and used but the Lord is not thanked. It is good to cultivate a thankful heart to God and also to others. Many believers just take blessings from God and others as if they deserved them and are not openly grateful. A Christian character trait that should be developed is being thankful and appreciative. The proud of heart and mind are so wrapped up in themselves that they ignore the commands of God to express thanksgiving. It would be good to make a list of people to whom God would have you be thankful today. Although motives are vitally important and God knows one’s heart, being thankful for the gifts of God, through human means, is important and vital to a person’s life and growth. It is unfortunate that believers just receive and enjoy the gifts but often do not thank the Lord and others.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for the loving gift of New Life and the many blessings that You have showered on my life. Remind me of the people You worked through to bless my life and guide me to be thankful to them.
