Leave It With God
Proverbs 28:25, Psalms 23:1-6, II Kings 6:15-17, Psalms 3:1, Romans 8:31, Proverbs 3:5-6
Battles come our way often. Whether they’re in the form of a person, physical problems, situations, or the unseen challenge of aging. It is the tendency of mankind to fight to rid themselves of these problems. However, we must remember as Dr. Charles Stanley has written, “when God-sized battles rise, it is arrogant to think you can handle them by your own strength, a politically savvy, armaments or diplomacy… but they always belong to Him. So, you don’t have to come up with a plan—the Lord will fight your battles.” (Isaiah 54:17) We must learn to trust the Lord and obey His Word. It is in waiting on Him and His ways that are challenging to the fleshly nature. (Isaiah 40:31) Often great difficulties are created when a person runs ahead of God and acts, reacts, or speaks in a carnal way. One needs to read Psalm 23 often and be reminded that the Lord is our shepherd and He knows the best way and time.
Prayer: Lord, forgive me for running ahead and not following Your plans. Thank You for grace, strength, and courage to do Your will.
Project: Think about and make a list of areas where God has reminded you of running ahead or acting out of your plans and not His and what must be done to apply the Bible to each situation.
