In The Mind
Isaiah 26:3, Psalms 18:14, Proverbs 4:23, Matthew 7:21-22, Romans 7:26
Often people are not careful about what they put into their minds and then they wonder why they are doing the things that they do. Jesus taught that whatever is in the heart will come out of the life. What is in a person’s heart (mind) or inner person is the root of words, actions, responses, behavior, attitude, and basically how a person lives. This is the reason we are instructed many times in scripture to:
Guard the mind
Check the mind
Set the mind on heavenly things
Clean out the mind
Put godly thoughts in the mind
It is of absolute importance that one is careful what they allow into the mind. What is the focal point of one’s thoughts determines the way their life is lived. Often much more time is given to putting wrong ideas into the mind, which leads to living by these thoughts and away from what is godly. This leads to trouble and regret. It is true that what one puts into the head, goes into the heart and is demonstrated in habits. Therefore, one must be extremely careful what they allow to enter the mind and where the mind is set.
Prayer: Lord, give me the wisdom to allow the things that honor You and have Your blessing to enter my mind.
Project: List areas where you possibly are allowing thoughts into your mind that do not honor God and determine how you will change.
