Happy?
Luke 15:11-16, Ecclesiastes 2:17, Hebrews 12:1-2, John 16:24, Psalms 34:8, 144:15
It seems today that people are chasing after a great multitude of things that they hope will make them happy. From eating certain foods, driving certain vehicles, accomplishing certain feats, and many other things. As the darkness closes in each night, humans do unimaginable things that they think will make them happy only to discover that they are often more miserable than they were before.
The Bible is clear to set forth steps that will bring joy and happiness to a person’s life:
Knowing and receiving Christ as personal Lord and Savior. John 3:16
Set the mind on God by reading and obeying the Bible. Psalm 119:1-11
Filter one’s mind input. II Corinthians 10:5
Stop sinning. Romans 6:11
Focus on what God has placed on heart and purpose of life
Do what is before you today. Colossians 3:23
Keep eyes on the Lord and His will for today and tomorrow. Philippians 3:13
Generally, happiness is cultivated as one thinks and lives according to the Bible
Prayer: Lord, guide me to see the things of this world that are temporary and guide me to live in obedience to You and Your Word today.
