Each person makes many choices daily as they speak to others with many opportunities to:

  • Encourage

  • Help

  • Lift

  • Direct

  • Warn

  • influence others

Or, the words that are spoken could:

  • Hurt

  • bring regret

  • cause problems

  • discourage

  • Influence to do wrong

The scriptures remind us that everything one says or does will be brought up for judgment one day (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14). Therefore, it is vitally important to pray for God’s leading and yielding to the Holy Spirt as one speaks. Words do matter and it is as Jesus reminds in the Word that what is in the heart comes out of the mouth. So, one must carefully pray and speak to honor the Lord and His ways.

Prayer: Repeat Psalm 19:14

Project: my plan for today is to speak words that honor the Lord.
