Danger This Way
Proverbs 6:34, 14:30, 27:4, Romans 12:21, Matthew 7:1-5, I Corinthians 3:3, 13:4
When our sights are on others we are headed in the wrong direction. There may be wrong and sin in another’s life but God is the only righteous Judge. Focusing on the faults, failures, and sins of others leads to anger, fear, bitterness, covetousness, envy, jealousy, and other damaging sins. The believer is instructed in the Bible to:
Pray for others
Not be judgemental
Keep their eyes on the Lord
A great way to become discouraged, depressed, frustrated, and even angry is to set one’s focus on others, for this only leads to the wrong conclusion. For victory, blessings, joy, and peace the believer must:
Seek the kingdom of God. Mt. 6:33
Commit their way to the Lord. Prov. 16:3
Stay in the Bible. II Tim. 2:15, Col. 3:16
Keep our eyes on the Lord. Isa. 26:3-4
The follower of Christ must guard the mind (Prov. 4:23) to always focus on the Lord and His Word to stay on the path of righteousness.
Prayer: Lord, I need your strength, power, and wisdom to keep on Your path.
Project: Think of ways that you need to adjust so you are surely on the Right path.
