Put On The Armor

Ephesians 6:10-18, I Thessalonians 5:8, Isaiah 59:17, Hebrews 4:12

Much is heard today about enemies but not much is said about satan, the enemy of the believer. For this enemy seeks to destroy, deceive and distract the followers of Christ. As the Apostle Paul reminds us in Ephesians 6 the enemy sets traps in places where they would be least expected in an effort to draw one from obeying the Bible. Just as humans seek to set traps for animals in unseen and tricky places, so satan sets traps in unexpected places such as:

  • Relationships

  • Money

  • Possessions

  • Attitudes

It is in places such as this that one is easily drawn away from obeying and following the Lord. It is in the least expected places and in the unexpected ways that many are slowly drawn into thinking like the unbelievers. As Andrew Murray wrote many years ago, “the great weapon of the enemy is deception.” It is in deceiving the follower of the Lord that they are open to thinking and practicing the ways of those who do not believe and trust the Lord. It is essential that the followers of the Lord invest time daily in the Bible, along with prayer and obeying the leading of the Holy Spirit to discern the possible traps of the enemy

Prayer: Lord, thank You that I am more than a conqueror in You.

Project: List areas where possible traps are being set in your life.
