Choices
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, Matthew 7:13-4, Joshua 24:15, Matthew 6:33, Colossians 3:17
Daily we are bombarded with many choices and decisions. Some of the choices are made out of habit with little or no thought, while others require deep consideration. It is true as someone said, “every choice has a consequence.” Often one is in such a hurry they make the choice without giving any serious thought to the choice. This must have been the situation for:
The prodigal son in Luke 15
The young man who entered the home of the immoral as recorded in Proverbs 7
Achan in the Bible who wanted money so badly
People in Noah’s time who chose not to follow the Lord
All of these people made choices without considering that they would reap what they sow (Galatians 6:7-9). It is in the time of payment for the choices that one realizes the importance of making choices. In order to make the right biblical choices one must read the Bible and wait before the Lord Who gives wisdom to all who ask (James 1:5). Choices do make a great difference in a person’s life so the wise person carefully considers what the Bible teaches and how the Holy Spirit is leading.
Prayer: Lord, I am asking for Your wisdom in the many choices of this day so that I would honor You in all ways.
Project: Carefully consider the choices of today and write down the consequences.
