God’s Will
Psalms 40:8, Romans 12:2, I Peter 2:15, Ephesians 5:17, Hebrews 4:12, Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
Much is said and written today about doing the will of God and knowing His ways. However, it seems that many times one just does what they want to do and then expects God to bless it. We are instructed in the Bible to:
Obey the Word in all things
Honor the Lord in all we do
Be an example of the believer
Not lift up oneself in pride
Remember that whatever is planted will be reaped
So, instead of making decisions and doing things that are pleasing to self, a follower of Christ should obey and do as they are taught in the Bible. It is easy to say, “the Lord told me” to justify one’s decisions and choices but often the choices are those that best serve self instead of the Lord’s purpose. One must invest much time in the Bible and prayer before making decisions and choices.
Prayer: Lord, open my spiritual eyes to see the actual decisions and choices so that I will make them according to Your desires and not satisfy or comfort myself
Project: List and pray about the choices and decisions you must make now.
