How Is Your Sight
Hebrews 11:24-27, Proverbs 3:5-6, 16:3, Isaiah 43:2, Jeremiah 17:7-8
A.W. Tozer said, “Your view of God is the most important thing to know for it influences everything else. An incomplete or false understanding of God’s character and love will set the plot of your story in a dangerous direction.” When a person does not truly know and see God they live and respond in their own wisdom, go their own way, and suffer the consequences of being off course. However, when a person has accepted the Lord as their personal Savior they read, study, and meditate in and on the Bible regularly to know Him better as they seek to obey Him in all things. This knowledge of God gives protection, direction, freedom, blessings, peace, wisdom, future rewards, and many other blessings of the Lord. If a person does not focus their life on seeing the Lord they go their own way and generally make wrong and regretful decisions and choices. Our view of God and understanding His desires becomes clear as we engage ourselves in the Word, and as the songwriter penned, “trust and obey for there is no other way”… So, just as one adjusts and cleans their eyeglasses for a better view, the believer adjusts and cleans up their life for a better view of God.
Prayer: Lord, show me areas that I should adjust, change or add to have a better view of You.
Project: On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the highest, determine where you are now in your view of God and if anything needs to be changed and adjusted.
