Resolving Fractured Relationships

Matthew 5:21-26, Ephesians 4:24-32, I Corinthians 13:4-7, Proverbs 15:1, Ephesians 4:26

Remember when you had a stone in your shoe but did not want to take the time in removing it? The irritation and pain were very real but you refused to deal with the problem. However, it did not just go away as you wished. This is the way many injured relationships are handled. The conflict is real but dealing with it seems too difficult to handle. We are instructed in the Bible to face difficulty, seek forgiveness and forgive another, and not to speak evil about the other person. Like the stone in the shoe that will not just go away, neither will the problem. So, rather than ignoring it and hoping it would cease one must obey the Word and deal with the conflict by:

  • Praying to seek God’s wisdom on the issue

  • Cultivate an understanding heart

  • Obey in whatever the Holy Spirit is leading you to do

  • Seek and grant forgiveness

  • Be faithful and sensitive to restoring a Biblical relationship

Many people would be influenced to do good and follow the Lord if believers would live out the truths of scripture, especially as it relates to relationships.

Prayer: Lord, reveal what is in my heart and show me the areas that I need to obey.

Projects: Write out the names and situations which the Lord is now bringing to your attention and how you will obey Him.
