Diligent Not Slothful
Colossians 3:7,23, Ecclesiastes 9:10, Proverbs 10:4, 12:11, 24, Ephesians 5:15-17
It is tragic that many today are encouraged to be slothful and lazy rather than productive and diligent. So, rather than being productive and effective many people are focused on pleasures, enjoyment, and fun. It’s not that one must work every hour of the day, but God created mankind to be productive, creative, and effective. The enemy of God (and one’s soul) continues to remind a person of the fun and games of life so their thinking centers on these things rather than being the creation that God intended. The Bible has much to say concerning the problems that slothfulness leads to such as:
No harvest
Sorrow
Regret
Loss (and much more)
Each day God has a special assignment for His children. It is important that believers wait before Him (Isaiah 40:31) and be an effective tool in His hand each day.
Prayer: Lord, guide me to be the effective and productive person who brings You honor today and does Your will.
