Do Not

Proverbs 16:28, 20:3, 26:20, I Corinthians 3:3, Romans 16:17

One of the characteristics that should be avoided is that of “sowing discord”. This does not mean that everyone will agree with others on every issue or concern since we are humans. However maintaining a godly manner and attitude, even at points of difference, one is to not “sow discord”. We are reminded in the Bible to:

  • Pray for others

  • Not to gossip

  • Pray for heavenly wisdom

  • Not be judgemental

  • Be a light in the darkness

  • Not to speak words of unkindness

  • Not to sow disunity and discord among believers

Yet within the body of Christ, the church, there are people that continue to sow discord by sharing words of condemnation, judging, and questioning. Many have been adversely affected by words and actions of discord when people grumble, judge, and complain. The path of the “sower of discord” leads to destruction, division, disunity, and eventually regret.

Prayer: Lord, by Your Spirit show me the real motives of my heart and give me the wisdom to respond in obedience to You.

Project: List any areas where God is reminding one of “sowing discord” and how you will deal with this situation.
