Humility

I Peter 5:6-7, Colossians 3:12, Ephesians 4:2, James 4:6, II Chronicles 7:14, Micah 6:8

Many people today devote much of their time, energy, and money trying to convince others how great and outstanding they are and what they plan to accomplish.  It is noticeable that many who seek a political office spend much of their time telling about all they have done and plan to do in the future. This often leads to arrogance and a proud attitude which in turn many times leads to other problems.  Much disunity in the church is caused by when people think more about themselves than others.  In the Bible humility does not mean that one is to be nothing, but is:

  • Allowing others to speak

  • Being open to the burdens and problems of others

  • Being willing to invest and help those in need

  • Having a pleasant attitude

  • Speaking words of kindness, love, and concern

  • Being God’s instrument to all

Prayer: Lord, guide me in all I do and say today.  Fill me to do Your will and be Your instrument to bring honor to Your name and be a blessing to others.
