Storms

Matthew 8:26, Psalms 34:4, 89:9, 104:29, John 16:33

Multitudes have asked and wondered why God allows storms in their life. Although many have searched for the answers to this question, one must check on their own life and determine just what God is doing and how He is leading. It is true that storms and hard times of life come to:

  • Strengthen our faith

  • Get one’s attention

  • Stop one from doing wrong

  • See better God’s ways

  • Consider things that God wants to be changed in their life

  • Deepen our trust in God

It is also obvious that the enemy, the devil, seeks to stop or hinder the work of God. That is why the Psalmist wrote, “I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” (Psalm 34:4) Storms and difficult times will come because we live in a sinful world. However, God sees and is in control and He will meet our needs at all times. Although today may seem dark and the clouds are heavy, God is in control and one must remember, “my Lord knows the way through the wilderness and all I have to do is follow”.

Prayer: Lord, I am so thankful you have delivered me from all my fears.

Project: Write out the possible reasons God has allowed or brought the current storms into your life and what He is trying to teach you.
