In the Morning
Ezekiel 12:8, Psalms 59:16, 143:8, Isaiah 33:2, I Thessalonians 5:16-18
The best way to begin the day is by waiting before the Lord. However, many times a person does not plan for enough time to read their Bible, pray, examine their life and meditate in and on the Word, and the challenges of life keep coming. The reading of the Bible and prayer does not keep one from having challenges and problems, but in God’s Word and ways they have guidelines for the many decisions and choices. Self-discipline and control must be exercised each day so that one invests adequate time for spiritual strength and wisdom for each day. Just listening to the teacher on Sunday is not adequate for spiritual guidance and control. It is the daily time in the Word and before the Lord that deepens one’s relationship with the Lord and allows the Word to impact the life. It is true that a person does not read the Word and obey it for salvation because it is a gift of God. Investing time in the Word and waiting before the Lord is how God teaches and guides us each day.
My declaration: I will invest time each day so I can better understand the Word of God and honor my Lord in daily conduct.
