Where Are You Looking?

Proverbs 6:6, Psalm 119:37, 116:5, Isaiah 26:3, II Kings 6:17, Proverbs 4:23

It is very difficult to walk one way and to be looking another way. In fact, this is a great prescription for stumbling down. We are reminded many times in scripture to be careful where we are focused and to guard our minds and eyes as usually life follows where one focuses themselves. Many have walked down the path of sin and destruction as they focused on the wrong things or people and ended up stumbling greatly. The Apostle Paul writes in Colossians 3:2 that we are to “set the mind on things above”. This is intentionally thinking about the Word and Ways of God. The focus of life is very critical. Therefore, check your focus today. Are you focused and living for that which will soon fade away? (Ecclesiastes 2:20-23) Or are you focused on that which will outlast your life?

Prayer: Lord, I yield my life to You and Your Word to focus on that which draws me closer to You and to do Your will.

Project: List what really is your focus today and decide if you are focused in the right direction and on the right things.
