Change Your Feelings
Proverbs 19:17, Philippians 2:3-4, Luke 12:33-34, Matthew 25:44-45, James 2:14-17
A great variety of things are done to bring joy and happiness into a person’s life. However, there is one practice that always is effective. The event that always changes a person is when that person reaches out and obeys the Lord to become involved with others to help them and meet their needs. When a person reaches out and becomes involved with others they generally discover that the problems they are dealing with are not so big. So, do you want to change your feelings? If the answer is “yes” then be God’s hand of love to a person who needs food, money, help, transportation, time, a listening ear, sharing the Good News, counsel, or more. Every believer wants to be a “special agent” of the Lord and this is the way one can be that person. Reach out to help another in need for God to use you and your feelings will change as God works in and through your life. Yes, of course, one must take care of their own challenges but investing to help others is used by God to help one see their own situation more clearly.
Prayer: God, forgive me for being self-centered and ignoring the needs of others Show me how I can be used to show Your love today.
Project: List the people and ways God brings to your mind now that you can be His “special agent” to people in need.
