Wait

Genesis 50:20, II Corinthians 4:7, II Peter 3:8, Proverbs 16:9, 27:1, Ecclesiastes 3:1, II Samuel 15:22

The human tendency is to act, speak and respond quickly instead of waiting and giving God time to work and move in the situation. Many times the believer runs ahead of God’s timeline only to create more problems and troubles. It is guaranteed that God is working and nothing takes Him by surprise. Yet often, we do not “wait” on the Lord and trust that He really knows what is best. It may not be easy or what one desires but obedience to the Word and the Holy Spirit is the key to living to please God and do His will. As the believer is waiting they must be:

  • In the Bible daily

  • Praying daily making requests and listening to God

  • Serving as God leads

  • Cultivating a merry heart to demonstrate the grace and power of God

Just as one is careful where they walk as not to stumble, the believer should be careful and obedient to allow God to work as they wait and trust.

Prayer: Lord, open my eyes to see where, what, and how You are working in my situations and what You want me to do now.

Project: List areas and situations where I need to wait and let God work.
