No One Like Him

Proverbs 18:24, Hebrews 13:5, II Samuel 7:22, I Samuel 2:2, Jeremiah 10:6

In 1895 Johnson Oatman wrote about his friend Jesus when he penned “There is not a friend like the lowly Jesus”. Yes, it is great to have friends that we can share with but there is no friend like Jesus. Jesus is the One who knows all about us but loves us anyway. Jesus has promised that “He will never leave us” when even the best of friends on this earth often leave us alone. Yes, we can go and talk with Him in times of trials, troubles, problems loss, hurt, and loneliness. Jesus can and will be there to listen and give us what we need in the hour of our need. Oatman must have experienced the presence of Jesus as he wrote, “There’s not an hour that He is not with us”. In the time of loneliness and rejection, we are sheltered under His care and directed by His Holy Spirit. Do you feel like friends have gone away and you are alone today? Jesus, as Your Savior and friend has promised to give you what you need at this hour so wait and rest in His presence.

Prayer: Jesus, thank You for Your love and always being near me.

Project: I am rejoicing that Jesus is with me in the following ways…
