It is a great blessing to spend time with a friend as they give updates and encouraging words. These occasions often remind you of days gone by and the memories bring refreshment to the soul. It is this and much more as we invest time to give our thanks and requests to the Lord and He reminds us of His presence, power, and peace. In these quiet times with our Lord, we often think about His promises and the many ways and times He has protected, led, provided for our needs, and met special desires that pressed down on our life at the time. The songwriter penned years ago, “What a fellowship, what a joy divine, leaning on the everlasting arms.” Yes, our heart is refreshed and the path of life is opened by the Lord as we invest time with Him alone in prayer. So, wherever you are today and whatever the situation is, “take your burden to the Lord, and leave it there” as you pray and wait in His presence.
