Waiting

Isaiah 40:31, Psalms 27:13-14, 37:7, Matthew 6:33, Lamentations 3:25, Micah 7:7, Psalms 130:5

Hardly anyone enjoys waiting, whether it is at the stop light or in the doctor’s office. Waiting is many times frustrating and challenging. Often a person will read a book, do crossword puzzles and word searches, or just sit and think about all they could be doing in the place of waiting. Many times, our Lord has waiting in His plans for growth and spiritual strength. So, in the times of waiting for the Lord to give direction one should:

  • Pray

  • Read the Bible

  • Think carefully

  • Create what God puts in the mind

  • Do the next thing

  • Do not focus on the past

  • Thank the Lord for what He has done

  • Be gracious, kind, and helpful to others

  • Rejoice in the Lord

As one has said, “It is easier to keep a train moving than to start from a stopped position.”

Prayer: Thank You Lord for the grace, courage, and strength to keep going today.

Project: List what should be done now while waiting for the Lord to show Himself in marvelous ways.
