Where You’re Looking
Isaiah 26:3, Psalms 101:3, Proverbs 3:5-6, 4:25, 16:3, Matthew 6:33, Psalms 55:22
It is very difficult to look one way and walk in another direction. So it is in life when we are focused on our problems and obstacles and try to be a tool in God’s hand and a blessing to the people around us. When one is focused on their problems and challenges they tend to be:
Irritable
Complaining
Disagreeable
Creating problems
Angry
Bitter
Unforgiving and not willing to forget
Yes, we do have problems and challenges in life but according to the Bible, we are to “take our burdens to the Lord and leave them there” as we obediently serve and follow Him. Our Lord has promised never to leave or forsake His own and to give His wisdom so His children would know how to respond to the circumstances of life. So, where one sets, or focuses, their mind will determine much of their daily life.
Prayer: God, I lift my eyes, heart, mind, and life to You and am determined to set them on You and not stay focused on all the problems and challenges.
Project: List the circumstances of your life and your responses now and how God wants you to respond.
