The Great Mistake
I John 1:9, Romans 6:11-12, 28:13, Psalms 32:5, James 4:8, Ecclesiastes 12:13-4
Most people do not like to admit it when they have done or said the wrong thing. However, hanging on to sins is not what God prescribes in the Bible. As one covers their sins it often opens the life-door to more sins. Therefore, one should:
Confess their sins
Seek forgiveness and release from people affected
Determine to obey the Bible and the Holy Spirit
If a person chooses not to deal with their sins Biblically the entire life is generally affected. Most of the time many lives are contaminated and new problems arise. It is a great mistake and disobedience to think that the results or consequences of the sins will be forgotten and go away. For each believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit who is leading to godliness and obedience and desires us to obey Him. The longer a person tries to cover the sin the more complications and problems are created.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for forgiveness and power over the sin You have brought to my attention.
Project: Make a list of the people you need to seek forgiveness from. What will you do to obey the leading of the Holy Spirit?
