Take Time to Help Others
Matthew 8:1-13, Deuteronomy 15:11, James 1:27, Philippians 2:4
One of the charactistics that we see in Jesus, while He was here on earth, was to take time to help others. This is observed on many occasions even when His disciples tried to get the people not to bother Him. Just imagine walking with the Lord and Him stopping to help others. This should be a lesson for us to take time for others. Just think about the many people who have invested in your life as they “took time” in some way. Maybe it was a teacher, pastor, coach, friend who stopped to meet a need in your life. A Christian like Jesus, should stop thinking about themselves and give to help others. Investing in others is to outlive your life. There are many people today who need some kind of investment in their life and you could be God’s hand in ministering to them. The needs are probably different than in Jesus’ time, but they are real needs. Recently, someone was in need of funds for gas so they could continue coming to church. Yes, we all have needs, but it is wonderful to be God’s hand to minister to people in need.
Prayer: Thank You Lord for the people that gave of their time and life to guide, help and invest in my need.
Project: List people that you know now where you could be used by God to meet a specific need and commit to obeying the Lord.
