Sin
Romans 6:11-12, Psalms 119:133, Romans 3:23-24, 6:15, I John 1:9, Ephesians 2:8-10, Proverbs 28:13
We are often reminded in the Bible that sin is not to reign (have control) over thoughts, words, actions, and life. Yet in a very liberal and anti-God society, evil is ignored by many. Unfortunately, believers have a cultural consideration of sin and evil. Thus many so-called believers have renamed sins and even justified their actions and conduct. Yet in the scriptures, we are instructed that sin should not remain in the believer’s life. To do, say, and behave in a way that is pleasing to the “flesh” our sinful nature has become accepted and even honored. However, the Bible is clear that a genuine believer is a new person in Christ, and this life should be a demonstration of what Christ has done and is doing. Someone has said, “what you do speaks so long I can’t hear what you are saying.” This saying reminds believers to be sensitive and obedient to the Lord. God does not expect His children to be perfect, but He certainly does not want His own to condone and allow sins in their life. It is good to examine one’s life on a regular basis.
Prayer: Lord, I open the door of my inner person and ask that You would reveal sin and guide me to deal with them as You desire.
