God Leads Me Along

Many years ago evangelist George Young wrote (during a time of tragedy in his life):

In shady, green pastures…
God leads His dear children along…
Some through the waters, some through the flood
Some through the fire, but all through the blood
And some through great sorrow, but God gives the song
In the night season and all the day long. 

In times of darkness and hardship, the believer can trust and rely on God to do what is best and that which brings honor to the holy God of heaven.  Yes, in our journey of life one is faced with challenges and struggles but the believer can trust in the hand of God in their life.  The season may seem dark and even lonesome but God is there.  I remember as a child walking in the darkness and talking out loud as if I was accompanied by someone and this brought courage to my soul. So the child of God is refreshed by God's eternal presence and power as He leads them along.

Prayer: Thank You Lord for leading me and knowing the way.  Give me the courage to trust and obey.
