Watch Your Steps

Ephesians 5:15, Psalms 37:4, 23, Proverbs 3:5-6, 16:3,9, I Peter 2:21

As one walks through life they should be careful where they step.  The other day I was outside working and did not check carefully where I was walking and stepped in a hole. Fortunately, this was not a big hole so I was able to recover.  However, many people today will step into “holes” that make a great difference in the rest of their life.  Just think about:

  • The prodigal son

  • Jacob the deceiver

  • The people who laughed at Noat and his ship

  • The men in the boat taking the Apostle Paul to Rome

So, it does make a difference where a person “walks” each day and how they invest their life.  It would be wise to set goals and plans, pray, and seek God’s wisdom so that “each step” has been prayed over and thought through.  In other words, one would be “walking circumspectly” or carefully thinking it over.

Where are you going today? A great majority of people just go on as they think they have more days ahead. However, the Bible instructs us to watch, obey and do right each day for one does not know about tomorrow.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for being with me and I do ask for Your guidance in all I do and say today.

Project: Write out your plan to walk carefully today.
