A Regular Check

Genesis 6:5, Proverbs 6:8, Matthew 9:4, 15:18-19, Mark 7:20-23

Just as one regularly checks the gauges in their car, they should also be checking the heart. It is easy for wrong and evil thoughts to be in the mind (heart) and life and it often happens quickly as one begins to hold on to bitterness, anger, jealousy, resentment, grudges, and the like. These sins in the heart (mind) determine much of what is spoken and how a person conducts their life each day. One of the tricks of our spiritual enemy is for sins to be in there in a “small” way. However, as it has been said, “all sins grow bigger unless they are cared for Biblically”. Therefore, it is wise to check your heart often to be sure it is clean. Each day people say and do things that may have a great impact on one’s thinking and life. So, check your heart and obey the Bible; confessing your sins and asking God for wisdom.

Prayer: Lord, reveal to me anything that is in my heart that does not please you.

Project: List any areas or people that need to be changed and determine to obey the Lord.
