The Inner Person
II Corinthians 4:7-16, Matthew 23:27-28, Proverbs 20:27, Romans 12:1-2, Ephesians 3:16
It is unfortunate that many are more concerned about the outer person than the inner person. This is proven by how they invest a great deal of time, money, and energy to make the outer man acceptable to others. It is not that one should ignore how they look, but the scriptures remind us many times that it is the inner person (heart/mind) that is to be more of one’s concern. It is vitally important that the inner person is:
Where Christ lives and is in control
Tuned to the Bible
Obedient to the Holy Spirit
Is your inner person becoming more as the Lord desires today? The Apostle Paul writes that the “inner person is to be renewed day by day” (I Corinthians 4:16). This means to take out the bad and put in the good. This should be the believer’s goal and plan for each day.
Prayer: Lord, show me things in my inner person that should not be there and guide me to renew my inner person by putting in that which You desire today.
