Cup is Full

Nehemiah 8:10, Matthew 12:34-35, Psalms 23:1-6, Colossians 1:9, Ephesians 5:18

Well, I suppose you are now or soon will be, drinking your favorite cup of refreshment as you start out this day.  Did you notice that the cup is full of whatever you choose to put in it?  One does not look at an empty cup and hope, pray, or think it full.  They pour in whatever they have chosen to fill the cup.  So it is with life. One can be full of problems, challenges, troubles, needs/lack, and the like or they can fill their cup “with the joy of the Lord”. (Nehemiah 8:10)

This does not mean that all one’s problems will vanish but the mind, heart, life, words, and conduct are centered on the Lord and the trust of His Word.  Jesus reminded His listeners that it is “out of the heart” where words and life are made.  So, just as you decided what was in your favorite cup, one also decides what is in their “cup of life.”

Prayer: Thank You, Lord, for all that You have given to me. Give me strength, courage, and obedience to live my life with a full cup as I share with others as You have instructed in Your word.
