Valuable
Proverbs 16:3, 16, Proverbs 3:5-6, I Samuel 15:22, John 14:23, Deuteronomy 28:1
Much of one’s time, energy, and funds are spent getting things that seem to be of value. However, they soon discover that the things of this world only have temporary value and bring limited joy. The writer of Ecclesiastes reminds the reader that even though one may work hard and attain many things, they take nothing with them at the time of leaving this world. A man once asked, “how much money did that rich man leave when he passed away?” Quickly another replied, “he left it all.” It is certain that we take nothing of life’s possessions with us when we leave this world. Therefore, one should be godly in all they do and accumulate as they will leave it to others. It is the wise and spiritual person that invests in others and lives in obedience to the leading of the Holy Spirit, thus building up “treasures in heaven”.
Prayer: Lord, help me to see what really is valuable today.
