Let It Go
Matthew 18:21-35, Colossians 3:13, Jeremiah 31:34, Proverbs 28:13
One of the sins that believers hold on to, and often do not obey the Lord, is the sin of not forgiving others and letting the situation go. This matter of unforgiveness, if not dealt with Biblically, grows into a larger matter and opens the door to more sins as well. People do not want to forgive because it seems like the other person is being condoned for their words or actions. However, to forgive is to release from feelings, emotions, and thoughts of anger, which in turn often turns into more sins. It is often a challenge to “keep the score” to be sure the other person pays. However, we are reminded in the Bible that God knows all things and will bring all into judgment for their life. It is a blessing for the believer to turn the person and situation over to the Lord. So, a challenging question is, how is your heart? For one’s heart to be corrupted with sin affects their words, actions, thoughts, and influences each day.
Prayer: Lord, reveal what is “really” in my heart.
Project: List people that God is bringing to your mind at this time, and beside each name list the time and how you plan to obey the Lord in dealing with the sin and letting it go.
