Climbing Up the Mountains

II Corinthians 4:1-16, II Corinthians 12:9-10, Romans 8:28, Philippians 4:6-7

During our journey in this life, there are times when events are difficult and troublesome. Often these times come when they are least expected and through events and people that one does not anticipate. So, everything is going fine and then all of a sudden it seems like one’s world is caving in on them and there are more problems than one could anticipate. It is at these times that the follower of Christ must remember that:

  • God knows the way

  • God will never forsake or leave His own

  • God gives strength, grace, and courage in the time of need

  • God desires for His children to learn lessons that only are clear in struggles

  • God has a plan for His own

  • God seeks to get His children to see areas of their life that need correction.

It is in the darkest night and the great struggles that God brings “joy in the night” even in the midst of challenges and trouble. So, we need to stop and praise Him and seek to learn the lessons He desires us to learn instead of focusing on the mountains of trouble.

Prayer: God, cleanse my heart and open my eyes to see that which You seek to bring to my attention now.

Project: List the lessons and desires of the Lord that are on your mind at this time.
