Think Before Speaking

Proverbs 25:11-12, Ephesians 4:29, Matthew 12:35 37

One of the great blessings and challenges before everyone today is communication with others. Whether in a formal or informal manner, many words will be spoken today. It is our great opportunity to share words that lift, guide, help, encourage, and bless others. However many times words are spoken that hurt, embarrass, or cause grief and sorrow.

Multiple times in Scripture we are reminded to be very careful with our words. In the book of Proverbs, we are reminded to think before we speak. When we do speak, the words should be kind, merciful, gracious, and helpful. Sometimes it is better not to speak at all.

One should be careful to speak words that are pleasing to the Lord, helpful to others, and not regretful when we look back over the day.
