Anxious

Philippians 4:4-7, I John 4:18, II Timothy 1:7, Isaiah 35:4, 40:31, 41:10, I Peter 5:7

One of the greatest challenges people face today is that of being anxious about what may happen today, what could happen in the future, or what has already happened in the past. Therefore, many live in fear and worry. Unfortunately, many believers live under the cloud of anxiety and frustration as well. Chuck Swindoll is famous for his statement that “life is 10% what happens to a person and 90% how they respond”. It is tragic that many believers do not:

  • Really trust the Lord

  • Give God time to do as He desires

  • Like where they are today

As has been said by many theologians, “God wants you where you are now or He would have you someplace else.” It often seems quicker to live in anxiety, fear, worry, frustration and eventual depression than waiting and trusting God.

However, it is only as one trust the Lord and is obedient to the Word of God that they can enjoy the “peace of God” which keeps the souls and produces victory in the life.

Prayer: Lord, help me to see, recognize and respond Biblically to all You are doing in my life.

Project: List the areas that are causing anxiety and give them to the Lord in prayer.
