Tell Them
Colossians 3:16, Ephesians 1:4, 16, 5:20, I Thesselonians 5:18, Philippians 1:7, I Thesselonians 1:2
Just think about all the people that have had a part in your life. Parents, pastors, youth leaders, coaches, teachers, friends, mentors, and on goes the list. These people gave of themselves so you would profit and live according to God’s Word. Of course, some of them have gone to be with the Lord, but some still would be excited to have an encouraging and thankful word (Proverbs 25:11). As one said years ago, “It is best that we give flowers to people who can still smell them.” So it is with the faithful and helpful servants who have invested in our lives in ways that we, and God, know. Yes, invest time today in thanking people for giving of themselves for your benefit. Although one has many things to do today, the lifting of others would be a great investment of time and energy for tomorrow may be too late.
Prayer: God, forgive me for being self-centered and open my spiritual eyes to see those that have invested in my life and guide me to share words of encouragement with them.
Project: List the people God brings to your mind now who need a word from you and set aside time today to complete the list.
