Fear Not

Deuteronomy 31:6, Isaiah 41:10, I Peter 5:7, Philippians 4:6-7, Psalms 23:1-6, Romans 8:35-39

In the world today many live in fear.  Some people are so afraid they do not go out of their houses, eat foods that others have prepared, or do not go where there are large crowds and more.  However, the believer in Christ trusts in His presence and power to protect, sustain, empower, provide, and much more.  In the Bible we are encouraged to:

  • Be courageous even in the time of doubt.  We can think of David as he faced the giant Goliath.

  • Believe God can do the impossible just as the widow did when she prepared supper for the prophet not knowing that God would keep her flour barrel full.

  • Trust in God when the way is not clear… even as the children of Israel did as they followed the cloud by day and the fire by night.

Although faced with significant challenges we are to “fear not” but to believe that God will do the supernatural and impossible things that only He can do.

Prayer: Thank You God for being greater than my fears.

Project: List the areas that cause fear in your life and give them to God.
