What to Do When Discouraged
Psalms 77:1-20, Proverbs 3:5-6, I Thessalonians 5:18, James 1:17, Nehemiah 8:10, Deuteronomy 33:25
Often people run and hide, take medicines, try to find new friends and experiences, seek new joy and many other things when they are discouraged. However, they soon discover that these potential solutions only last for a short time and discouragement sets in again. Believers need to be reminded that discouragement is a tool of the enemy to stop them when they are productive and actively serving the Lord. However, encouragement comes from the Lord and in various ways. God moves on the heart and mind along with encouraging words from others to lift His own and give them the refreshment that only He can provide as they are reminded in the Bible (Deuteronomy 33:25) that God gives the strength His own needs for the day. It is a trap of the enemy that a believer tries to solve yesterdays or tomorrows problems instead of focusing on things at hand. So, when you are discouraged turn to Pslam 77 and read the entire chapter and determine your steps of action to overcome discouragement.
Prayer: Thank You God for meeting my needs today.
