In A Storm

Psalms 27:4-6, 107: 28-31, Nahum 1:7, Isaiah 25:45, 26:3, Matthew 8:26

Often one finds themselves in the middle of a storm that was not expected. It is in these times that faith and strength grow or, unfortunately, some turn from following the Lord and go their own way.  One must learn from the Bible what followers of the Lord did in the storms:

  • Daniel prayed and trusted God in the lion’s den

  • Shadrack, Meshack, and Abednego praised and trusted God

  • Children of Israel obeyed the Lord as the Egyptians pursed

  • The lame man at the pool reached out to Jesus

  • Nehemiah prayed and obeyed the Lord

If you are in a storm of life today, remember that God knows (Romans 8:28) and will work all things for your good. This is a time of turning and learning. Spend more time in the Word and prayer as you go through this valley of life. As the Psalmist writes, “Joy cometh in the morning.”

Prayer: God, thank You for Your presence in my storm of life and for the strength that You are giving to me.
